  • Author: twiza amys

Ingredients

Scale

For the Chicken

  • 4 boneless skinless chicken breasts
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil
  • ⅓ cup balsamic vinegar
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper

Optional Ingredients

  • Fresh basil
  • Cherry tomatoes
  • Mozzarella cheese
  • Parmesan cheese
  • Red pepper flakes
  • Mushrooms

Recommended Kitchenware:

  • Baking dish or casserole dishes
  • Nonstick cookware sets
  • Mixing bowls
  • Silicone spatula
  • Sharp chef’s knife
  • Meal prep containers

Instructions

Step 1: Prepare the Marinade

In a large mixing bowl, whisk together olive oil, balsamic vinegar, garlic, honey, Italian seasoning, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and black pepper.

The balsamic marinade creates rich flavor while helping the chicken stay juicy during baking.

Using quality cooking tools and mixing bowls makes preparation easier and more efficient.

Step 2: Marinate the Chicken

Place the chicken breasts into the marinade and coat evenly.

Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes. For deeper flavor, marinate for up to 4 hours.

Many home kitchen tips recommend marinating chicken longer for more tender texture and richer flavor.

Step 3: Prepare the Baking Dish

Preheat your oven to 400°F.

Lightly grease a baking dish or casserole dish with olive oil or cooking spray.

Transfer the marinated chicken breasts into the prepared dish and pour remaining marinade over the top.

High-quality casserole dishes help distribute heat evenly for perfectly baked chicken.

Step 4: Bake the Chicken

Bake uncovered for 22 to 28 minutes or until the chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165°F.

Halfway through baking, spoon some of the balsamic sauce over the chicken to keep it moist and flavorful.

As the chicken bakes, the balsamic glaze caramelizes beautifully, creating rich savory flavor with slightly sweet edges.

Step 5: Rest and Serve

Remove the chicken from the oven and allow it to rest for 5 minutes before slicing.

Resting helps the juices redistribute through the chicken for maximum tenderness.

Garnish with fresh basil or parmesan cheese before serving if desired.

Notes

  • Thin chicken breasts cook more evenly and stay tender.
  • Do not overbake or the chicken may dry out.
  • Fresh garlic creates deeper flavor than jarred garlic.
  • High-quality balsamic vinegar improves the overall taste dramatically.
  • Durable cookware sets help maintain even baking temperatures.

Many recipe books recommend using a meat thermometer to prevent overcooking chicken breasts.
