  • Author: iliass
  • Total Time: 1 hour

Description

This cake combines the classic comfort of a buttery vanilla base with the fruity sweetness of strawberries, all wrapped in a creamy pink frosting. The addition of colorful candy-coated chocolates gives it that playful “funfetti” vibe, making it especially popular with kids and anyone who loves bright, cheerful desserts.

Ingredients

Scale

For the Cake:

  • 2 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 ½ cups granulated sugar
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 2 ½ teaspoons baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ cup strawberry jam or puree

For the Frosting:

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 34 cups powdered sugar
  • ½ cup strawberry puree or syrup
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Pink food coloring (optional)

For Decoration:

  • Colorful candy-coated chocolates
  • Sprinkles (optional)

Instructions

Step 1: Preheat and Prepare

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and line 2–3 round cake pans with parchment paper.

Step 2: Cream Butter and Sugar

In a large mixing bowl, beat the butter and sugar until light and fluffy. This step is essential for a soft cake texture.

Step 3: Add Eggs and Vanilla

Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.

Step 4: Mix Dry Ingredients

In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt.

Step 5: Combine Batter

Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, alternating with milk. Mix until smooth but do not overmix.

Step 6: Add Strawberry Swirl

Gently fold or swirl in the strawberry jam or puree to create a marbled effect.

Step 7: Bake

Divide the batter evenly between pans and bake for 25–30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean. Let cakes cool completely.

Notes

  • Always use room temperature ingredients for smoother batter
  • Do not overmix to keep the cake light and fluffy
