Ingredients

- Reserve a few whole OREO cookies for garnish

- 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
- ½ cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
🍫 For the Chocolate Pudding Layer
- 2 packages (3.9 ounces each) instant chocolate pudding mix
- 3 cups cold whole milk

- 12 ounces whipped topping (Cool Whip), thawed

- Chocolate shavings

- Gummy worms
- Crushed OREO crumbs

Instructions
Step 1: Crush the OREO Cookies
Place the OREO cookies in a food processor and pulse until they become fine crumbs.
Alternatively, place them in a zip-top bag and crush with a rolling pin.
Set aside.
Step 2: Prepare the Cream Cheese Mixture
In a large bowl beat together:
- Cream cheese
- Butter
until smooth.
Add:
- Powdered sugar
- Vanilla extract
Beat until light and fluffy.
Step 3: Prepare the Chocolate Pudding
In another bowl whisk together:
- Instant chocolate pudding
- Cold milk
Whisk for about 2 minutes until the pudding begins to thicken.
Let stand for 5 minutes.
Step 4: Combine the Filling
Fold the prepared chocolate pudding into the cream cheese mixture.
Gently fold in the whipped topping until smooth and fully combined.
Do not overmix.
Step 5: Assemble the Dirt Cake
In a 9×13-inch baking dish or large trifle bowl:
- Spread a layer of crushed OREO cookies.
- Add half of the creamy filling.
- Sprinkle another layer of OREO crumbs.
- Add the remaining filling.
- Finish with the remaining crushed OREO cookies.
Spread evenly.
Step 6: Chill
Cover and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, preferably overnight.
This allows the dessert to firm up and the flavors to blend.
Step 7: Decorate
Before serving, decorate with:
- Whole OREO cookies
- Mini OREOs
- Chocolate curls
- Gummy worms (optional)
- Whipped cream swirls
- Chocolate drizzle
Step 8: Serve
