Ingredients
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 cup mushrooms, sliced
- 4 slices Swiss cheese
- 1 small onion, sliced
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 4 sheets aluminum foil
- Optional: burger buns for serving
Instructions
Preheat grill to medium heat or oven to 375°F (190°C).
Divide ground beef into 4 equal portions and shape into patties.
Season both sides of the patties with salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
Lay out foil sheets and place one patty in the center of each.
Top each patty with sliced mushrooms and onions.
Add a small piece of butter on top of each packet.
Fold the foil tightly around the ingredients to seal completely.
Place packets on grill or in oven and cook for 20–25 minutes.
Carefully open foil and place a slice of Swiss cheese on each patty.
Close foil again briefly to melt the cheese (2–3 minutes).
Serve hot, optionally on burger buns.
Notes
Make sure foil is sealed to trap steam and ensure even cooking. Be cautious when opening packets, as hot steam will escape.
