  • 2 cups mushrooms, finely chopped

  • 1 package cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • ½ cup parmesan cheese
  • 1 tablespoon parsley
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper

Optional Ingredients:

  • Bacon bits
  • Sun-dried tomatoes
  • Jalapeños
  • Cheddar cheese

Recommended Kitchenware:

  • Cast iron skillet
  • Baking dish or casserole dishes
  • Mixing bowls
  • Sharp chef’s knife
  • Silicone spatula
  • Nonstick cookware sets

Instructions

Step 1: Prepare the Chicken

Preheat your oven to 400°F.

Lightly grease a baking dish or casserole dish with olive oil or cooking spray.

Using a sharp knife, carefully cut a pocket into the side of each chicken breast without slicing completely through.

Season both sides of the chicken with garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, Italian seasoning, salt, and black pepper.

Reliable cooking tools and premium cookware sets help create evenly cooked juicy chicken.

Step 2: Prepare the Garlic Butter Mushrooms

Heat butter in a skillet over medium heat.

Add mushrooms and cook for about 5 to 6 minutes until softened and lightly browned.

Stir in minced garlic and cook for another 30 seconds until fragrant.

Allow the mushroom mixture to cool slightly.

Fresh mushrooms and garlic create rich homemade flavor that makes this recipe feel restaurant quality.

Step 3: Make the Filling

In a mixing bowl, combine cream cheese, mozzarella cheese, parmesan cheese, parsley, black pepper, and the cooked mushroom mixture.

Mix until creamy and fully combined.

The garlic butter mushrooms create rich savory flavor while the cheeses melt into creamy comfort food perfection.

Step 4: Stuff and Bake the Chicken

Stuff each chicken breast pocket with the mushroom filling.

Secure with toothpicks if needed to prevent filling from leaking during baking.

Place the stuffed chicken into the prepared baking dish and drizzle lightly with olive oil.

Bake uncovered for 25 to 30 minutes or until the chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165°F.

For extra golden tops, broil during the final 2 minutes.

High-quality casserole dishes help distribute heat evenly and improve baking consistency.

Step 5: Rest and Serve

Allow the chicken to rest for 5 minutes before serving.

Resting helps preserve the juices while keeping the cheesy mushroom filling creamy and rich.

Garnish with fresh parsley if desired.
