Description

Cinnamon Sugar French Toast Roll-Ups are a fun and irresistible twist on classic French toast. Soft sandwich bread is flattened, filled with a creamy sweet filling, rolled tightly, dipped in a rich cinnamon-vanilla egg mixture, and cooked until perfectly golden. Instructions

Step 1: Prepare the Bread

Trim the crusts from each slice of bread.

Flatten each slice using a rolling pin until thin.

Step 2: Make the Filling

Mix together:

  • Cream cheese
  • Powdered sugar
  • Vanilla extract

until smooth and creamy.

Step 3: Fill the Bread

Spread about 1 tablespoon of the cream cheese mixture near one edge of each slice.

Add any optional fillings if desired.

Roll the bread tightly and gently press the seam to seal.

Whisk together:

  • Eggs
  • Milk
  • Vanilla
  • Cinnamon

until fully combined.

Step 5: Cook the Roll-Ups

Heat butter in a large nonstick skillet over medium heat.

Place in the skillet.

Cook for 2–3 minutes per side, turning frequently, until evenly golden brown.

Mix together:

  • Granulated sugar

While still warm, roll each cooked French toast roll-up in the cinnamon sugar until fully coated.

Arrange on a serving platter.

Dust with powdered sugar if desired.

Add fresh berries and whipped cream.

Step 8: Serve

Serve warm with maple syrup for dipping.

Notes

  • Use fresh, soft sandwich bread for easier rolling.
  • Avoid overfilling to prevent the filling from leaking.
  • Cook over medium heat to ensure the center warms without burning the outside.
