  • 2 cups mushrooms, sliced
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 3 cups chicken broth
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • ½ cup parmesan cheese
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 tablespoon parsley

Optional Ingredients:

  • Mozzarella cheese
  • Bacon bits
  • Red pepper flakes
  • Sun-dried tomatoes

Recommended Kitchenware:

  • Large skillet
  • Cast iron skillet
  • Silicone spatula
  • Meal prep containers
  • Sharp chef’s knife
  • Premium cookware sets

Instructions

Step 1: Season the Chicken

In a bowl, toss the chicken with olive oil, garlic powder, onion powder, Italian seasoning, paprika, salt, and black pepper.

The seasonings create rich savory flavor while helping the chicken develop beautiful golden color during cooking.

Reliable cooking tools and premium cookware sets improve skillet cooking consistency.

Step 2: Cook the Chicken

Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat.

Cook the chicken pieces for about 6 to 8 minutes until golden brown and fully cooked.

The chicken should reach an internal temperature of 165°F.

Transfer the chicken to a plate and keep warm.

Golden seared chicken creates deep flavor that blends perfectly with the creamy mushroom sauce.

Step 3: Cook the Mushrooms and Garlic

In the same skillet, melt butter over medium heat.

Add mushrooms and sauté for about 5 minutes until browned and tender.

Stir in garlic and cook until fragrant.

Fresh mushrooms from grocery deals and organic food brands create rich earthy flavor that defines classic Marsala-style dishes.

Step 4: Cook the Orzo

Add the orzo pasta directly into the skillet.

Pour in chicken broth, Worcestershire sauce, and Dijon mustard.

Stir well and simmer uncovered for about 10 minutes until the orzo becomes tender and creamy.

The orzo absorbs the savory mushroom flavor while creating comforting risotto-like texture.

Durable cookware sets help maintain even heat for creamy one pan pasta recipes.

Step 5: Finish and Serve

Reduce the heat to low.

Stir in heavy cream, parmesan cheese, and parsley.

Return the chicken to the skillet and mix until fully combined.

Allow everything to simmer gently for another 2 minutes until creamy and heated through.

Serve warm garnished with extra parmesan cheese or parsley if desired.

Notes

  • Fresh mushrooms create the best texture and flavor.
  • Stir the orzo occasionally to prevent sticking.
  • Do not boil the cream sauce aggressively.
  • Durable cookware sets improve one pan cooking consistency.
  • Store leftovers in airtight meal prep containers for up to 4 days.

Many home kitchen tips recommend adding parmesan cheese gradually for smoother sauce texture.
