  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper

For the Rice

  • 2 cups long-grain white rice
  • 8 ounces mushrooms, sliced
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 4 cups chicken broth
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • ½ cup heavy cream
  • ½ cup parmesan cheese
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley

Optional Ingredients:

  • Spinach
  • Peas
  • Bacon
  • Mozzarella cheese
  • Thyme

Recommended Kitchenware:

  • Dutch oven
  • Large skillet
  • Rice cooker
  • Meal prep containers
  • Silicone spatula
  • Premium cookware sets

Instructions

Step 1: Season the Chicken

Pat the chicken dry using paper towels.

Season with garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, Italian seasoning, salt, and black pepper.

The seasoning blend creates rich savory flavor while helping the chicken develop a beautiful golden crust.

Reliable cooking tools and premium cookware sets improve cooking consistency.

Step 2: Cook the Chicken

Heat olive oil in a large Dutch oven or deep skillet over medium-high heat.

Cook the chicken for about 5 to 7 minutes until golden brown.

Remove the chicken and set aside.

Golden searing creates deeper flavor throughout the finished dish.

Fresh ingredients from organic food brands elevate the homemade flavor even more.

Step 3: Cook the Mushrooms and Aromatics

In the same pot, melt butter.

Add mushrooms and onions.

Cook for about 5 minutes until softened and lightly caramelized.

Add garlic and cook for another minute until fragrant.

The mushrooms release their natural flavor and create a rich savory base for the rice.

Durable cookware sets help maintain even heat for perfect sautéing.

Step 4: Cook the Rice

Add the rice and stir for about 1 minute.

Pour in chicken broth and return the chicken to the pot.

Bring to a gentle boil.

Reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for 18 to 20 minutes until the rice is tender and most of the liquid is absorbed.

The rice absorbs all the savory chicken and mushroom flavors while becoming perfectly tender.

Step 5: Finish and Serve

Stir in heavy cream, parmesan cheese, and fresh parsley.

Allow everything to heat through for 2 to 3 minutes.

Serve warm while creamy and flavorful.

Serve directly from the Dutch oven or elegant kitchenware for cozy family-style presentation.

Notes

  • Chicken thighs provide extra tenderness and flavor.
  • Do not overcook the rice.
  • Fresh mushrooms create the best texture.
  • Durable cookware sets improve one-pot cooking consistency.
  • Store leftovers in airtight meal prep containers for up to 4 days.

Many home kitchen tips recommend allowing the rice to rest for 5 minutes before serving for better texture.
