🍰 For the Cake

  • 1 box chocolate cake mix
  • Ingredients required on the cake mix box (typically eggs, oil, and water)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

🍫 For the Fudge Filling

  • 1 jar (12 ounces) hot fudge sauce
  • ½ cup sweetened condensed milk

🍩 For the Brownie Batter Frosting

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 3 cups powdered sugar
  • ½ cup heat-treated brownie mix
  • 2 tablespoons cocoa powder
  • 2 tablespoons heavy cream
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Pinch of salt

🍬 For the Topping

  • 1 cup mini chocolate chips
  • Chocolate curls
  • Extra hot fudge sauce
  • Brownie pieces
  • Chocolate sprinkles (optional)

Instructions

Step 1: Bake the Cake

Preheat the oven according to the cake mix directions.

Prepare the batter and bake it in a 9×13-inch baking pan.

Allow the cake to cool for 10 minutes.

Step 2: Poke the Cake

Using the handle of a wooden spoon or a thick straw, poke holes all over the warm cake.

Space the holes about 1 inch apart.

Step 3: Add the Fudge Filling

Warm the hot fudge sauce slightly.

Whisk it together with the sweetened condensed milk.

Slowly pour the mixture evenly over the cake, allowing it to soak into the holes.

Cool completely.

Step 4: Make the Brownie Batter Frosting

Beat together:

  • Butter
  • Powdered sugar
  • Heat-treated brownie mix
  • Cocoa powder
  • Vanilla
  • Salt

Add the heavy cream and beat until light, smooth, and fluffy.

Step 5: Frost the Cake

Spread the brownie batter frosting evenly over the cooled cake.

Step 6: Decorate

Top with:

  • Mini chocolate chips
  • Chocolate curls
  • Brownie pieces
  • Chocolate sprinkles

Drizzle generously with extra hot fudge sauce.

Step 7: Chill

Refrigerate the cake for 1–2 hours before serving.

Step 8: Serve

Slice into squares and serve chilled or at cool room temperature.

For an extra indulgent dessert, add a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
