Ingredients

Scale

For the Cake:

  • 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup butter, softened
  • 1 3/4 cups sugar
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup milk

For the Banana Pudding Layer:

  • 2 cups cold milk
  • 1 package instant vanilla pudding mix
  • 1 can (14 oz) sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 cup whipped cream

For the Layers & Topping:

  • 34 ripe bananas, sliced
  • 1 box vanilla wafers
  • 1 cup whipped cream (for topping)

Instructions

Step 1:

Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and line cake pans.

Step 2:

In a bowl, whisk flour, baking powder, and salt.

Step 3:

In another bowl, beat butter and sugar until light and fluffy.

Step 4:

Add eggs one at a time, mixing well. Stir in vanilla.

Step 5:

Alternate adding dry ingredients and milk, mixing until smooth.

Step 6:

Divide batter into pans and bake for 25–30 minutes until done.

Step 7:

Let cakes cool completely.

Step 8:

Prepare pudding by whisking milk, pudding mix, and condensed milk until thick. Fold in whipped cream.

Step 9:

Assemble cake: layer cake, pudding mixture, banana slices, and vanilla wafers.

Step 10:

Repeat layers and finish with whipped cream on top.

Step 11:

Chill for at least 2–3 hours before serving.

Notes

Use ripe bananas for the best flavor and sweetness. Avoid assembling too early to prevent wafers from becoming too soft.
