Slow Cooker Chicken & Gravy (Easy Comfort Food Dinner)

  • 2 lbs boneless, skinless chicken breasts or thighs

  • 2 packets chicken gravy mix

  • 1 can (10.5 oz) cream of chicken soup

  • 1 ½ cups chicken broth

  • ½ teaspoon black pepper

  • Optional garnish: chopped parsley


Instructions

Step 1: Prepare the Slow Cooker

Lightly spray the slow cooker with nonstick cooking spray for easy cleanup.

Step 2: Add the Chicken

Place the chicken in an even layer in the bottom of the slow cooker.

Step 3: Mix the Gravy

In a bowl, whisk together chicken gravy packets, cream of chicken soup, chicken broth, and black pepper until smooth.

Step 4: Pour and Cook

Pour the gravy mixture evenly over the chicken. Cover and cook on LOW for 6–7 hours or HIGH for 3–4 hours, until the chicken is tender and fully cooked.

Step 5: Shred or Serve

 

Stir the gravy gently. Shred the chicken with two forks if desired, or serve the chicken whole with gravy spooned over the top. Garnish before serving.

Notes

  • Chicken thighs stay extra juicy, but breasts work well too.

  • Gravy thickens as it rests—stir before serving.

  • Avoid lifting the lid during cooking to maintain heat.

  • For thicker gravy, remove lid for last 15 minutes.
