- 1 (3.9 oz) box instant chocolate pudding mix
- 2 cups cold milk
- 1/2 cup whipped topping (like Cool Whip), optional for fluffier texture
- 12 chocolate sandwich cookies (like Oreos), crushed
- 6 candy pumpkins (or more, depending on number of servings)
- Green icing, sour belts, or green licorice for vines (optional)
- 6 small plastic cups or mason jars
Instructions
- Mix Pudding: In a medium bowl, whisk pudding mix and milk for 2 minutes until thickened. Let sit for 5 minutes to fully set.
- Add Whipped Topping (Optional): For a lighter texture, fold in the whipped topping.
- Crush Cookies: Place cookies in a zip-top bag and smash with a rolling pin until fine crumbs.
- Layer Dirt Cups: Spoon a layer of pudding into each cup, sprinkle a layer of cookie crumbs, and repeat if using larger cups. Finish with a thick layer of cookie crumbs on top.
- Decorate: Press a candy pumpkin into the top of each cup. Use green icing or sour belts to mimic pumpkin vines.
- Chill: Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes before serving.
Notes
Make sure the pudding is fully set before layering—rushed pudding makes for soggy dirt cups.
