Pineapple Brown Sugar Lil’ Smokies Bites

  • Author: twiza amys

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 (14 oz) packages lil’ smokies sausages

  • 1 (20 oz) can pineapple chunks, drained (reserve juice if needed)

  • 1 cup brown sugar, packed

  • 2 tablespoons pineapple juice (optional, for extra sauce)

  • Optional: toothpicks for serving

Instructions

Step 1: Prepare the Ingredients

Drain the pineapple chunks well. If you want extra sauce, reserve a few tablespoons of the pineapple juice.

Step 2: Combine in Cooking Vessel

Add lil’ smokies and pineapple chunks to a slow cooker, saucepan, or baking dish. Sprinkle brown sugar evenly over the top.

Step 3: Add Moisture (Optional)

If you prefer a saucier finish, drizzle 2 tablespoons of pineapple juice over the mixture. This helps the brown sugar melt smoothly.

Step 4: Cook Until Glossy

  • Slow Cooker: Cook on LOW for 2–3 hours or HIGH for 1–1½ hours, stirring occasionally.

  • Stovetop: Simmer on low heat for 20–25 minutes, stirring gently.

  • Oven: Bake at 325°F (165°C) for 45–50 minutes, stirring once halfway.

Step 5: Serve Warm

Once the sauce is thick and glossy and sausages are heated through, stir gently and serve warm with toothpicks.

Notes

  • Stir gently to avoid breaking pineapple chunks.

  • Sauce thickens more as it cools.

  • Keep warm setting is ideal for serving parties.

  • Use fresh pineapple if preferred, diced small.
