Million Dollar Chicken Casserole – Ultra Creamy Cheesy Comfort Food Dinner

Ingredients

  • 3 cups cooked chicken, shredded or cubed

  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened

  • 1 cup sour cream

  • 1 cup cottage cheese (small curd recommended)

  • 1 can (10.5 oz) cream of chicken soup

  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

  • ½ cup shredded mozzarella cheese

  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder

  • 1 teaspoon onion powder

  • ½ teaspoon black pepper

  • ½ teaspoon salt (adjust to taste)

For the Topping:

  • 1 sleeve Ritz crackers, crushed

  • 4 tablespoons butter, melted

  • 2 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese

Optional Garnish:

  • Chopped parsley

  • Green onions


Instructions

Step 1:

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish with butter or cooking spray.

Step 2:

In a large mixing bowl, combine softened cream cheese, sour cream, cottage cheese, and cream of chicken soup. Mix until smooth and creamy.

Step 3:

Add shredded chicken, cheddar cheese, mozzarella cheese, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper. Stir until everything is evenly coated.

Step 4:

Transfer the chicken mixture into the prepared baking dish and spread it evenly with a spatula.

Step 5:

 

In a separate bowl, mix crushed Ritz crackers with melted butter and Parmesan cheese. Sprinkle this mixture evenly over the casserole. Bake uncovered for 35–40 minutes, until bubbly and golden brown.

Notes

For the creamiest texture, make sure the cream cheese is fully softened before mixing. Cold cream cheese can cause lumps and uneven texture.
