Marshmallow Rice Krispies Halloween Brains Treats


Ingredients

  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1 (10 oz) bag mini marshmallows
  • 6 cups Rice Krispies cereal
  • Red food coloring (optional)
  • Red gel frosting (for decorating)
  • Cooking spray or butter (for hands)

Instructions

  1. In a large pot, melt the butter over low heat.
  2. Add marshmallows and stir until completely melted and smooth.
  3. If desired, add a few drops of red food coloring to tint the mixture pinkish.
  4. Remove from heat and stir in the Rice Krispies cereal until fully coated.
  5. Let cool slightly, then grease your hands with cooking spray or butter.
  6. Scoop about 1/2 cup of the mixture and shape it into a rough brain shape.
  7. Use your fingers or a spoon to create a brain-like texture and crease down the middle.
  8. Place each brain on a parchment-lined tray.
  9. Drizzle red gel frosting over the tops to resemble veins or blood.
  10. Let set for at least 30 minutes before serving or storing.

Notes

  • Use strawberry syrup instead of gel for a bloodier effect.
  • Add mini marshmallows or white chocolate chunks inside for “brain matter.”
  • Use green food coloring for a zombie-style variation.
  • Shape around a small chocolate truffle for a gooey surprise center.
