Ingredients
-
2 lbs beef stew meat or sirloin, cut into bite-sized pieces
-
1 ½ lbs baby potatoes, halved
-
3 tablespoons butter, cut into pieces
-
3 cloves garlic, minced
-
1 cup beef broth
-
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
-
1 teaspoon salt
-
½ teaspoon black pepper
-
1 teaspoon paprika
-
1 teaspoon garlic powder
-
Optional garnish: chopped parsley
Instructions
Wash and halve the baby potatoes. Pat the beef dry with paper towels to help it brown better during cooking.
In a bowl, toss the beef pieces with salt, black pepper, paprika, and garlic powder until evenly coated.
Add the potatoes to the bottom of the crockpot. Place the seasoned beef bites on top. Sprinkle minced garlic over everything and dot with butter pieces.
Pour beef broth and Worcestershire sauce evenly over the beef and potatoes. Gently stir just enough to distribute the liquid without disturbing the layers too much.
Cover and cook on LOW for 7–8 hours or HIGH for 4–5 hours, until the beef is tender and the potatoes are fork-tender. Stir gently before serving and garnish if desired.
Notes
-
Stew meat works well, but sirloin gives extra tenderness.
-
Cut potatoes evenly for consistent cooking.
-
Sauce thickens slightly as it rests.
-
Avoid opening the lid frequently to maintain heat.
