Ingredients
For the Chicken:
- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts (or thighs)
- 1 teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 2 tablespoons olive oil or butter
For the Creamy Sauce:
- 1 cup heavy cream or half-and-half
- ½ cup sour cream
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- ½ teaspoon onion powder
- ½ teaspoon Italian seasoning
- ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
For the Topping:
- 1 ½ cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- ¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese
- Fresh parsley (optional, for garnish)
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly grease a baking dish.
Season the chicken with salt, pepper, and paprika on both sides.
In a skillet over medium heat, heat olive oil or butter and sear the chicken for 2–3 minutes per side until lightly golden (optional but recommended).
Place the chicken into the prepared baking dish.
In a bowl, mix heavy cream, sour cream, minced garlic, onion powder, Italian seasoning, and Parmesan cheese until smooth.
Pour the creamy mixture evenly over the chicken, ensuring each piece is well coated.
Sprinkle mozzarella cheese and additional Parmesan cheese over the top.
Bake uncovered for 30–40 minutes, or until the chicken is fully cooked and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
Broil for 2–3 minutes if you want a golden, slightly crispy top.
Let the dish rest for 5 minutes before serving. Garnish with fresh parsley if desired.
Notes
- Do not overcook the chicken to keep it juicy
- Use freshly grated Parmesan for best flavor
- Searing adds extra depth but can be skipped
- Adjust sauce thickness with milk if needed
- Let it rest before serving for better texture
