For the Hand Pies
- 1 package refrigerated pie crusts (2 crusts)
- 4 oz cream cheese, softened
- 2 tbsp powdered sugar
- 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 cup canned cherry pie filling
For Assembly & Topping
- 1 egg (for egg wash)
- 1 tbsp water
- 2 tbsp coarse sugar or sanding sugar
- Powdered sugar glaze (optional)
Instructions
- Prepare the filling: Mix softened cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla until smooth.
- Roll and cut the dough: Unroll pie crusts and cut into circles or rectangles (about 4–5 inches wide).
- Fill each pie: Add 1 tablespoon of cream cheese mixture and 1 tablespoon of cherry pie filling to the center.
- Seal the edges: Fold the dough over and crimp with a fork.
- Prepare the air fryer: Preheat to 350°F (175°C) if your model requires it.
- Brush with egg wash: Beat egg with water and brush lightly over each pie.
- Add topping sugar: Sprinkle coarse sugar for crunch.
- Air fry: Cook for 8–10 minutes, or until golden and crisp.
- Glaze (optional): Mix powdered sugar with a little milk and drizzle over warm pies.
Notes
Don’t overfill the pies—too much filling will leak out in the air fryer.
